Andy graduated from J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, VA in June of 2001.
2001
After graduating from high school, Andy attended Shenandoah University. After a year away at college, he decided to join the Army and serve and defend his country.
2002
Andy joined the Army on November 21, 2002. He attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC and followed on to attend Advance Individual Training in Gulfport, MI where he was awarded the MOS 21W10, Carpentry and Masonry Specialist.
2005
Specialist Anderson was deployed to support Operation Iraqi Freedom in October of 2005.
2005
Andy was promoted from Specialist to Corporal on December 1, 2005. His technical knowledge and leadership abilities made him a prime candidate to take on the role of a Non-Commissioned Officer.
2006
Cpl. Anderson passed away on June 06, 2006 in Ar Ramadi, Iraq at the age of 24. His decorations and achievements include the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge.
